FEATURED FIGHTER: Nate "The Great" Marquardt

This past week I was blessed with the opportunity to interview one of my favorite fighters, Nate Marquardt. Here are the questions I asked and his responses.  

MMABeats: How did you get started in MMA ??

Nate: Watching Royce Gracie when I was in high school.

MMABeats: What was your 1st walkout song?
Nate: My first walkout song was a Metallica song I believe. That's who I listened to back then. 

MMABeats: What are your top 5 favorite songs to get your pumped up to workout or you just like to listen to?? 

Nate: I like anything with a good beat or anything that has lyrics that pump me up. I like rock, rap, techno, punk, metal, reggae, reggaeton, classical, country, and so on.

MMABeats: When is your next fight?

Nate: Feb 11 in BAMMA

UFC 139 Hendo vs Shogun

UFC 139 is a night that won't be soon forgotten! They are saying that the Hendo vs Shogun could possibly be one of the best fights ever! I have a difference of opinion because I watched the Michael Chandler vs Eddie Alvarez fight for Bellator instead. The Chandler / Alvarez fight was non-stop action with Chandler controlling the rounds by pushing forward and striking with very powerful strikes. But i guess that is all in the eyes of the beholder!

FEATURED FIGHTER: TRAVIS CHAPPELL

I had the privilege of talking to one of the most down to Earth people i have ever talked to about their musical tastes and their MMA background. That person was Travis Chappell.

Travis got started in MMA after a wrestling career in high school and college. He was looking for a way to satisfy his competitive nature. He went to a class out of curiosity and as they say the rest is history ! He found that MMA satisfied his competitive nature.

He has trained with Joker Guymon at Joker's MMA in Lake Forest, California. When they met it was an instant friendship that lasts to this very day! Another source of training and knowlege and inspiration he has obtained through the friendship with Joker Guymon is Jake and Joe Ellenberger of EllenbergerMMA in Nebraska.
